Aston is a digital scientist and began his journey in computing in 1989, studying computer science and working on virtual reality for Dixons Store Group in London.
He has worked with Hollywood special effects engineers and trained presenters for the BBC and produced, animated and directed an independent feature film with the help of Millennium Points Birmingham City Universities TIC media initiative. He has also found time to invent and patent a solar powered uvc-led water steriliser.
Aston is currently developing AI focused games, producing nanomaterials for connectivity to the blockchain and internet of things, producing his second feature film, and has produced 5 games using C++, the Unreal engine and Unity. He won an award for his filed for patent solar powered virtual reality wearable controller and is a keen musician, poet and published author. Aston produces and develops artwork under the ‘MAKKI’ banner and works with fellow musician and actress Digi Diva. He is also working on a blockchain based computer game with his former BCU lecturer Jake O’Connor who is the founder of startup Games Interactive.
