NORMA BANTON
Norma Jean Banton is an award winning jewellery designer/maker, and philanthropist born and raised in Handsworth, Birmingham, by African/Caribbean parents. She began making jewellery in 2002 after her early career in fashion modelling which took her out of Handsworth to London, Italy, Germany and the Caribbean. She later studied for a degree in Business, gained a teaching qualification and worked as a teacher of Business English in Germany and as a Business Studies Lecturer in Birmingham. Her jewellery designs are inspired by her faith journey and cultural heritage.
In 2004 Norma moved to her current workshops in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.
